Definition: | Surgery that removes excess fat and skin in order to improve the patient’s figure making it shapelier. |
Procedure: | The method of surgery is to tighten the skin of the abdomen by undermining the skin and stretching it. Excess skin and fat is then removed. The incision is placed across the lower abdomen but sometimes is like an upside down T. The scars are concealed by clothing. Patients who are obese or have large amounts of loose skin may need a modification of this operation called a panniculectomy. |

It is possible to exercise 2 mos. After the surgery The wound will completely heal within 3-4 mos. Patient should bed rest 2-3 days after surgery While in bed, legs should be bent at the hips to reduce strain on abdominal area. Wear abdominal binder always to support and tighten abdominal muscle. Start to walk as soon as possible Stitches will remove in 5-7 days and deeper suture will come out within 2-3 wks. Avoid heavy activity for several weeks. |
Liposuction
Definition: | Eliminate accumulated fat in certain body parts only. (belly, hips, buttocks, thighs, upper arm, etc). Also, it is called suction- assisted lipoplasty to remove localize collections of excess fat. |
Procedure: | Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery operations. The small canula is placed deep into fatty layer and presser suction is applied until the fat is removed. Carefully sculpting contour of the body is the key of success because the fat under skin must be removed and the remaining fats have to be smooth but thinner layer. After the surgery is complete, pressure dressing must be worn to the suction site to keep body contour in shape. |

Buttock Implant (Gluteal Muscle)

Definition: | This procedure is to enhance appearance size, and definition of gluteal muscles in the implant varies from size, style and surgical technique. This can only be performed by cosmetic surgeons that have extensive experience in forming (sculpting) & placing solid silicone implants. |
Procedure: | 2-3 inches is made between buttocks in the midline. Through this incision, buttock muscle is lifted up and a pocket is made just large enough for the implant. The implant is inserted into this pocket , the opposite side is then completed. Both sides are carefully examined to assure natural and symmetric looking. Dissolvable stitches are placed in skin incision. Bandage is placed to provide compression to buttocks to reduce discomfort and swelling. |
